Coach Eric has been coaching swimming since 2007. His love for the water began in high school through water polo, along with cross country and baseball. While volunteering at a local park in Broward County, he recognized the community’s need for lifeguards, which led him into aquatics professionally.
After moving to Gainesville for college, Eric worked as a lifeguard and became manager of the city swim program in 2010. His ability to relate to children’s fears and help them see challenges as surmountable led to his hiring as Aquatics Director at Sun Country Sports in 2012. Since then, he has taught more than 3,000 children to swim. He is kind, compassionate, and sets high standards for his athletes.
Teaching high school is now his full-time career, and he offers swim lessons around that schedule. Outside the pool, Eric enjoys exploring springs, rivers, and beaches by paddleboard or surfboard.
