Coach Jake Mitchell

Jake Mitchell is a recently retired US Olympic Swimmer.

He swam collegiately at the University of Michigan for two years and the University of Florida for 3 years.

Looking back at his decorated career, he realized that there were many things he was taught along the way that helped him achieve such success.

Because of that, he feels it is his turn to give back to the next generation of elite swimmers.

His philosophy is that technique and efficiency are just as important as training hard in practice every day.

The best way to get better is to improve the fundamentals that will allow for better training.

He looks forward to sharing my insights and inspiring you to become the best swimmer and person you can be!

Coaching Philosophy

Coach Jake’s coaching philosophy is to increase the swimmers’ efficiency and feel of the water so they can increase their workload in training. By doing this, they are better prepared to train harder and for longer without getting as tired. He aims to make sure every swimmer understands how to move their body through the water in the way that best benefits them. He also believes that starting with the fundamentals and working with a strong foundation is the basis for confidence when race day arrives
