SwimTec offers advanced swim instruction to competitive swimmers, water polo, and triathlete athletes looking to improve their stroke. Swimmers seeking stroke refinement and technique improvement are in the right place. SwimTec has competitive swim coaches available to provide one-to-one analysis and instruction for you or your swimmer. SwimTec has
an ideal environment with a multi-camera setup, allowing the coach and the swimmer to see their stroke from various
viewpoints. Videos review can be viewed by both the swimmer and their primary swim team coach, creating a unified
coaching team and giving swimmers consistent stroke instruction and feedback. With one-on-one instruction, our coaches will work on every aspect of a stroke, from body/head position to arm stroke, kick, and timing. SwimTec coaches focus on the skills and techniques that most need attention. Consistent repetition is key to improving swimming techniques. Swim Tech’s unique facility lets swimmers perform that repetition without the fatiguing aspect of multiple laps.

1:1 stroke coaching is personalized swim instruction focused entirely on one athlete. Unlike a team practice where coaches must divide their attention among many swimmers, a private stroke coaching session allows us to analyze technique, identify weaknesses, and develop a customized improvement plan specific to the swimmer.
No. We work with competitive swimmers, summer league swimmers, triathletes, masters swimmers, and athletes who simply want to become more efficient in the water. Any swimmer can benefit from improved technique.
Swim teams are excellent at developing conditioning, race fitness, and training habits. Stroke coaching focuses on the individual swimmer’s technique, efficiency, and skill development. We view our coaching as a complement to what your swim team is already doing, not a replacement.
Not at all. In fact, most swimmers get more value from their club practices after receiving technical coaching. A better technique allows swimmers to maximize every yard they swim during team workouts.
We coach all four competitive strokes:
We also work on starts, turns, streamlines, underwater dolphin kicking, race strategy, and overall swimming efficiency.
There is no perfect age. We work with youth swimmers, high school athletes, collegiate swimmers, masters swimmers, and triathletes. The right time is whenever a swimmer is ready to improve their technique and learn more about the sport.
Most sessions are one hour or longer. This allows enough time to evaluate technique, make corrections, practice drills, and review video footage when applicable.
Yes. Video analysis is used during most sessions. Seeing their own stroke often helps swimmers understand technical corrections much faster than verbal feedback alone.
Yes. Session videos are typically shared with the athlete and, if requested, their home swim club coach. This helps everyone stay aligned on the swimmer’s development goals.
Absolutely. Every swimmer leaves with customized drills and focus points designed specifically for their needs. These drills help reinforce what was learned during the session and provide a roadmap for continued improvement.
For most athletes, we recommend stroke coaching once or twice per month. This cadence provides enough time to implement changes during regular swim practices while still receiving ongoing feedback and refinement.
Yes. While every athlete develops at a different pace, improved technique typically leads to better efficiency, stronger body position, improved propulsion, and faster race performances.
In many cases, yes. Swimming involves thousands of repetitive movements every week. Poor technique can place unnecessary stress on the shoulders, neck, lower back, hips, and knees. Improving stroke mechanics often helps reduce those stresses and promotes healthier movement patterns.
Because volume alone does not always fix technical problems. If a swimmer is repeating inefficient movements thousands of times, they may simply be reinforcing bad habits. Private coaching helps identify and correct those issues before they become deeply ingrained.
Yes. When requested, we are happy to collaborate with home club coaches and share video analysis and technical observations. Our goal is to support the athlete and enhance the work already being done by their team.
Parents often report improvements in:
Many swimmers also develop a stronger understanding of what they should be focusing on during team workouts.
Yes. Swimming is both a physical and mental sport. We work with athletes on confidence, race preparation, goal setting, focus, and developing a healthy competitive mindset.
Yes. Swimming-specific strength training can help athletes improve power, stability, mobility, and durability. We focus on building strength that directly supports swimming performance rather than general fitness alone.
Our approach combines four critical elements of swimmer development:
When these four areas work together, swimmers often experience faster progress, greater confidence, and long-term success in the sport.
For many swimmers, yes. Even small technical improvements can create meaningful gains over time. The goal isn’t simply to swim harder—it’s to swim smarter, move more efficiently through the water, stay healthy, and get the most out of every practice.
